New Projects
I have two new bags to hold my Samsung Android phone and my Kindle which enable me to listen to audio. With extra long handles I can sling each bag over my head and shoulder. I'm hoping that it's easy to tell how I made these bags just by looking at the photographs.
And now for something different as the final results are not bags. This is a first pass at making house slippers using plastic bags. I crocheted a small number of chain stitches to match the bottom width of an insole and then did rows of double crochet stitches (UK/AU version) expanding or reducing each side with multiple stitches into the next space or turning the work before the end of the row respectively to match the insole. Next I crocheted two rows of double crochet around the sole. The I added some slightly reducing rows of chains and triple trebles to create the back of the slipper, along with a flap towards the front of the slipper. I haven't developed a pattern for this yet but will in the near future at least for my shoe size.

Baby Rugs
Two of my nieces each delivered a new baby girl recently. So I made a baby rug to celebrate each arrival, obviously not using plastic bags but certainly in the traditional granny square pattern.
